			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The most common question asked when acquiring a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: would I buy an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, standing for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, an acronym for ‘digital light processing’ are the two commonplace projector imaging technologies. With so many different brands and models available, it can be overwhelming for consumers to make a choice between these technologies. It comes down to the fact that LCD projectors offer far superior image quality and colour accuracy. The next part of this article explains why DLP projectors struggle with projecting an equal rate of image quality.</p>
<p>Visualise a set of blinds in your household on your bedroom window. By a twist of a rod you can make the shutters open or closed, according to whether you want to let light in or not. Such is exactly how an LCD projector functions. Each pixel operates like a unique shutter on a set of blinds to either allow light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is formed of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as pros like to call them. Each pixel element works to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from when the projector is turned on to when the picture reaches your screen is extremely important for image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors project white light from the lamp by separating it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which direct the coloured light to 3 different LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels cast the elements of the image by processing each pixel on and off. The pixels are then projected in a glass prism to form the projector image. Something important to know about LCD projectors is that all three colours are projected onto your projector screen all at once. The way a DLP projector runs is widely different and even how an image shows up is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is processed through a spinning colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This way of creating an image casts a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors as described above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to form the image elements. The elements of the image are displayed in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s vision will then pull together each coloured element of the image into a total image. With LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to create the best brightness and spectacular colour accuracy. In DLP, only one colour is available at any given time, and so causing lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some DLP developers have added a white segment for the colour wheel to improve general brightness, but this goes and detracts from colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I hear in forums all the time that DLP gives a higher contrast ratio and ergo must be superior quality. For those who do not know, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the projector is capable of producing. DLP projectors do possess high contrast specifications in comparison to the majority of LCD projectors. At first glance, this appears to be an advantage, however, in real life, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room in which the projector is being utilised. Do not be duped by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you plan to see needs moving images, DLP projection technology also has image marks, or ‘artifacts’. The most typical artifact that a DLP projector shows with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is inherent in DLP systems because moving images change between the time red, blue and green colours are projected. LCD projectors do not have this characteristic because all colours are sent with the others. DLP designers have created 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to resolve the colour break up problem, but the price of these projectors make them impractical for the large part of businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another point of difference between LCD and DLP is how they balance for the refractive qualities of light. Jump back to high school science, and they taught you how the various colours of light refract differing amounts when shone through the same lens. The downside with DLP projectors is that they take the one same panel with the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are different and refract light in a different way. Generally with a DLP projector, a superfluous yellow colour will appear above and an extra blue will appear below something as simple as a straight black line. While being built LCD projectors can be set to minimize these effects on the projected image, as each colour is projected on its own LCD panels.</p>
<p>The isolated actual plus (excluding price) with buying a DLP projector is its smaller total size and weight. However, this is only relevant for transporting the device and needs to be traded off against the image superiority of LCD projectors. If overall picture quality is important to you, then the solution is a no-brainer. Go for an LCD projector! LCD projectors will always produce bright, colourful images with fewer image blips. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch found preeminence in sea power during the 17th century, the early yacht had been a pleasure craft used initially by royalty and later by the burghers for the canals as well as the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing yachts was incidental, coming out of private challenges. English yachting started with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his return to the English throne in 1660, the city of Amsterdam sent him a 20-metre (66-foot) pleasure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he then named Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, ruled 1685–88), ordered for other yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and back, on a Â£100 wager. Yachting was found to be fashionable with the affluent and aristocracy, but after that period the habit did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht club in the British Isles, the Water Club, was started around about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard organization, and held great naval panoply and rigour. The closest thing to racing was the “chase,” when the “fleet” pursued an imaginary enemy. The club went on, largely as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, when joining with other organisations, it was known as the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing began in some ordered method on the Thames about the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland instigated the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV rose to sovereignty in 1820, it was named the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded after a racing argument, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht society had been initiated at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal sponsorship made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the continued location of British racing. The association at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, again at the rise of George IV. Each member was required to have boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing tests for high bets were held, and the club life was superlative. Ultimately Royal Yachting Club boats increased in size to more than 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting began with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and continued when the English held power. Sailing was mostly for leisure and rose to its high point in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which traveled on the Mediterranean Sea and created a minimum of luxury and sophistication for the later yachts in that area from the late 19th century. The first enduring American yacht club, the Detroit Boat Club, was started in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens founded the New York Yacht Club while aboard his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>The first sailing yachts followed the lines of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century through to the second half of the 19th century. The style of bigger yachts was first largely impacted by the win of America, which was designed by George Steers for a association headed by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) had its namesake after its victory at Cowes in 1851. Early yachts were not designed and crafted in a contemporary sense, with merely a model being used. In the present day, one of the rapidly growing areas in sailing is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are manufactured to single dimensions in length, beam, sail area, and other aspects (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing for these boats can be done on an even basis with no handicapping required. A great example is the generic International America&#8217;s Cup Class adopted for participants in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>As long as yachting was done primarily for the aristocracy and the affluent, cost was no object, and the size of boats grew, in both length and weight. The ascendancy and desire of smaller boats came in the latter half of the 19th century in the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A journey around the world (1895–98) sailed single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray made plain the hardiness of smaller craft. Thereafter in the 20th century, notably after World War II, smaller racing and leisure craft became commonplace, down to the dinghy, a favourite training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, yachts of less than 3 m were sailed single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>After the decade 1840–50, in which steam began to emulate sail power in commercial boats, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were employed more and more in leisure boats. Bigger power yachts were developed to a high element, and long-distance travel turned into a preferred pastime of the affluent. The early power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; those then made way to those powered by the fully submerged screw or propeller sort of propulsion. As in the case of naval and merchant yachts, auxiliaries carrying both sail and power were the yacht archetype for a number of years. By the later half of the 20th century, many yachts were still auxiliaries, but the larger part were solely power yachts with gasoline or diesel engines.</p>

The Mayflower, purchased by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and gave active service in World War II.</p>
<p>As more sizeable and more dependable internal-combustion engines were created, many large yachts were using them for power. The establishment of the diesel engine, employing heavy oil for fuel, advanced in World War I. From the decade that followed, bigger power-yacht creation blossomed, reaching a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. From that point the best auxiliary yacht built was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The manufacture of big power yachts declined after 1932, and the fashion from then was toward smaller, less costly boats. Following World War II, lots of small naval craft were traded by private owners for conversion to yachts. In the late 20th century, yachting is a internationally popular sport enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen who are actually sailing and keeping their own small pleasure craft. The popularity of boats and sailors increased steadily, not only in the traditional areas along the beach but also on inland waterways and lakes.</p>

A proportional tax is a tax that places the same relative onus on each taxpayer—i.e., when tax liability and income move in equal proportion. A progressive tax is recognised by a higher than proportional increase in the tax onus in regard to the rise in income, and a regressive tax is recognised by a less than proportional rise in the comparative burden. Ergo, progressive taxes are thought of as removing the lack of equality in income distribution, while regressive taxes are found to have the effect of an increase in these inequalities.</p>
<p>The taxes that are usually thought to be progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are nominally progressive, however, may become less so for the upper-income demographic—particularly if a taxpayer is able to lessen his tax base by nominating deductions or by removing some income aspects from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates if applied to lower-income groups can also be more progressive if exemptions of a personal nature are declared.</p>
<p>Income measured over the period of a year might not absolutely offer the most accurate measure of taxpaying requirements. For example, transitory growth in income may be saved, and in temporary declines in income a taxpayer may decide to provide for consumption by decreasing savings. <p>It is not simple to term corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, due to a lack of certainty about the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). <p>Average income tax rates display the portion of total income that is paid in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is necessary for considering the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate grows with income. Average income tax rates usually grow with income, both because personal allowances are provided for the taxpayer and dependents and also because marginal tax rates are graduated; on the other hand, preferential treatment of income received fundamentally by high-income households might dampen these effects, producing regressivity, as displayed by average tax rates that lessen as income increases.</p>
